Throwing in the Towel

After some consideration I have decided to withdraw Colwyn Bay Goods from the GJLC. Due to personal reasons, I can not complete the layout to a standard where I would be happy with by July.

Thanks to everyone who followed the thread and gave up time to help with research and construction advice. The layout with go into storage and I hope to have another attempt over the coming winter months.

Hi Bryn. Thanks for posting such interesting and helpful progress reports over the months. While of course it's entirely your decision to make, I do think it's a real pity we won't see the layout in July even as a work in progress - it is an Expo after all and speaking personally I learn a lot by seeing layouts at any stage of completion. I can only aspire to the standards you're working to, but I can imagine it's a bit different once you're playing at that level and you want to do yourself justice. Still....

Anyway I hope you'll keep posting reports once work restarts.

Hiya Bryn,

I would echo Graham's comments and encourage you to take it to the GJ anyway to show people what you have been up to in the flesh. Seems a shame to leave the club in the bag so to speak!

Cheers
Kevin

Thank you both for your very generous comments.

Sadly, the truth of the situation is that I doubt I will be able to make Expo this year due to issues at work. To say I'm annoyed with how this has to conclude is quite the understatement...
